Editor's Note: I would like to apologize for any grammatical errors or odd wording used throughout this little entry. It's been a long frustrating week and I'm past exhausted.

So after a long hiatus on drawing things, I recently came into possession of a drawing program called Paint Tool SAI. And while it's no Photoshop or Manga Studio, it serves its purpose really well for someone with a broken old computer like mine. So as I was trying to get myself back into ship shape with my digital drawing (no programs that would run on my machine meant my poor little Wacom was basically a glorified external mouse) I started to realize a few problems I have at hand.

1) My computer and internet are slow. Really slow. It doesn't help that I have only 50 Gigs of Hard drive space (thank god for 500 gigabyte external hard drives!) and little-to-no ram what so ever. Browsing the internet is a pain and a hassle, and the computer locks up frequently. This can make things difficult because while searching for a reference image or texture I can use, it freezes and basically borks my computer. This leads to

2) The fact that I rely so much on different pictures of drawn art, reference pictures, textures, and so many other things makes drawing and learning very hard for me. While you may say that doing that kind of drawing means I rely too much on photographic art and that hinders my art, I think it has actually helped improve it. When I started Farnot, I could not draw people posing if it were to save my life. Today, whenever I try to sketch someone out, I try to make the first drawing of them doing something. Jumping, fighting, eating, and shaking hands, the whole lot. Admittingly, I haven't improved much on the final drawing (there is a reason you don't see a good most of them from me) but at least the basis for me to keep my drawings from feeling static is there. But what does this have to do with textures? Simple.

I need textures. They make my art pop out and feel more alive than just plain old flat color. Sure it's a lazy excuse for not wanting to draw or color so much detail (guilty as charged), but when you don't have time to learn all of that (especially on programs that aren't widely used and don't have the same functions or commands as top-tier programs such as Adobe Photoshop) you have to go with what you know. Is that an excuse? Yes, of sorts, but it also holds the bare truth. Will I ever sit down to learn it? Yes, one day I will. Honestly, kind of hoping it's soon. But for now, I have to stick to pulling textures off the internet.

Since issues 1 and 2 sit right next to each other and take turns to piss me off, I am not left with allot of choices. What I should do is buy a new computer and forget this all happened. But money isn't in for such luxuries (unless you fine folk would happen to have a recent one that I can have I would greatly appreciate it. Windows Vista or Windows 7 would be nice starters but I would love an iMac OS X 9 or 10. I'm not picky! :) ). So what am I doing now for that then?

Now, I have my own personal collection of textures I used and abused on a regular basis over on my Dropbox. Problem is, Dropbox and my internet won't play nice so I can never access it. So that leaves me to going to Google Images and look up textures there. Doesn't sound like much of a problem there now does it? Well, remember my reasons 1 and 2 above? They play hand in hand to make sure that nothing gets done. So what should be a 2 minuet search, save, and overlay for my drawing, takes roughly 2 hours to do. And most times I have to settle for a texture because the one I need or want can't be found. So my art suffers from the problem of my circumstance.  But I believe I have a solution (and it can help all you fancy folk in the meanwhile too if you so do care to use it). :)

I have decided to part ways from my private collection and upload it all onto here and other places so you (and I) can go to town on it. I hope to have a zip file uploaded somewhere in the near future.  But until then, I will have every single one on here for you to save and use. Hope this comes in handy.

Ok. This is something I've been meaning to do for a long, long while. I'm trying to find all of the drawings I have done and uploaded on multiple sites (ugh. why did past-Bryan have to make this so difficult for future-Bryan?!?!?!?) and post them on two main sources. Facebook and here.

Question: But Bryan, why are you saving lower resolution and far less superior versions of your beautiful art? Why not just use the original saves you had?

Answer: The sad truth of it is, I dont have any of the original PSDs or file saves of just about ANY drawing I made. I lost everything when my main computers hard drive decided to go where all hard drives go when they end their lives. Now, the hard drive wasnt that old. Several years in fact. But my laptops cooling fans kept giving out, and in the end, just quit working all together. So after a while and months of heat damage to the motherboard and hard-drive, they all just quit.

Question: So didnt you do anything to try to prevent such a catastrophic disaster? Surely you could have bought one of those USB powered cooling fans or bring it in to Geek Squad at Best Buy?

Answer: Actually, I did do all of those, multiple times! One of the first hiatus' I took from Farnot was because I had sent my computer back to get repaired, only to have it happen to me again! As for those cooling fans, NONE of those were made for the intensive use I put my computer through. None of them lasted over 2-3 months. I've even tried to make my own cooling units with some old fans from a bunch of old PCs I have. Yeah. That didnt work so well.

Question: So what now then? Your obviously writing this from a computer. That must mean that your back to drawing digitally again! HOOOORAYYYYYYYYY!

Answer: Sorry to rain on your parade (which I would like to have in my honor anyways) but I havent drawn anything digital in months! Last time I did was 2 months ago and that was a quick 5 minute sketch I did on my little brothers Wacom Bamboo tablet when we were setting up Manga Studio 4 EX on his computer. And I dont think I saved it. So sorry.

Question: Soooo what? You quit? Looser.

Answer: Hey now! No need to get offensive. I never said anything about quiting. I actually have other projects that require my attention before I can get back to any digital work of any sort. But before that, I need a good computer.

Question: You said "other projects". What other stuff can you possibly be doing?

Answer: These other projects of mine will be unveiled all in due time. All I can say about them is that the premise is new, the scale is epic, and it is bound to knock your socks off! (but please put them back on. No need to have foot odor here).

Question: So what about Farnot then? I know you said that you have to have a computer to do anything but have you finally got a good buffer going? One that will allow you to work on this other project?

Answer: I'm so sorry to say this, but I have decided that it is in my best interest to discontinue making Farnot. Believe me, this was not an easy desicion. Many a night have I stayed awake, looking into that cold black night, wondering if it was something I should do. Farnot has a story that hits me really hard. It was a personal way for me to vent and a way to bring some closure to a series of events that were plaguing me badly, especially the charecter Ren. She hit home the hardest to me. But my updates were sporadic, I was loosing viewer interest, and to be honest, I had kind of written myself into a hole with the latest storyline I did. And as much as I wanted to do this as a living, I needed to have a comic that would be done every day. And I couldnt do that with Farnot. So after weeks of thought, I ended it.

Question: Thats depressing. I loved that comic!

Answer: Thank you. That means alot to me.

Question: You said you needed a new computer before. Whats that all about?

Answer: I'm using an old computer being held together by toothpicks, rubberband, bubblegum, and a whole butt-load of Elven magic. But no amount of Elvish tighting rubberband spells will keep that thing going forever. This computer is quickly running out of life. So hence a new computer is direly needed (especially with the said projects I am working on).

Question: Ok. Go get one then! Its not that hard.

Answer: I kind of cant right now. I dont have the funds to get one the one I need.

Question: Then get a cheap one. They sell them at Wal-Mart for cheap! I mean, you cant be picky.

Answer: I dont have money for those either. I have my own bills I need to pay as well and it leaves me enough to barely scrape by. So I have to find alternative funding to obtain it. As for being picky, there is a reason I am being picky in this case.

Question: What do you have in mind?

Answer: Well the one thats first and foremost to me would be to open up both commisions and donations. I'll be posting about that soon. But in order to do those, I need your help!

Question: Oh boy. I knew this was coming. No, I will not rob a bank for you.

Answer: Ummmm thats not what I was going to ask. I was going to say that in order for me to do this, I need to have people aware of my art and of my existance. So that means that you have to go out there and spread the word! Find a piece of art you like? Like it, favorite it, Digg it, Reddit it. Post a link to your Facebook, Twitter, anywhere that will bring awareness to me.

Question: Ok. Sounds simple enough.

Answer: And you wont do 5-10 years in jail! Thats always a plus.

Question: So you sound like you have it all planned then.

Answer: Indeed I do.

Question: So I have one more question before I leave you.

Answer: Go ahead.

Question: Who was Ren? Why was she so important to you?

Answer: She would have been my daughter, hence her being in Farnot. It was a way for me to atleast give her some life that no force could take away. That was my remembrance of her, and that was my way to move on.

Question: What will happen to her in the comics future?

Answer: The future isnt written my dear friend. You never know what will happen in the FUTURE. ;)
